What is Bonaire Visitor Tax?

Starting from July 1, 2022, Bonaire authority has made it compulsory for foreign visitors of all ages to pay tourist tax or commonly called Bonaire Visitor Entry Tax.

Bonaire Visitor Tax is an entry tax and replaces the previous Room tax and Rental car tax.

The funds from the visitor entry tax are to be invested to support education, infrastructure, tourism development and sustainability initiatives on the island.


  • All Foreign visitors who are traveling to Bonaire must pay the Entry Tourist Tax.

How to pay the tourist tax?

  • The tourist application form is available here.
  • This is a secure online platform where you can submit your application without any difficulties.
  • The application form lets you add up to 5 visitors. You will need to enter their names, birthdate, country of residence and gender. number.
  • In case your group has more than 5 members, you may fill out another application form for the rest of the group.
  • After you have made the payment for the tourist tax, you will receive a QR Code in 12 hours via your email address. You will have to show it to the local or airport authorities. Please make enough copies for all of the group members.
  • You can make your payment through PayPal or with a credit card.
  • When arriving in Bonaire, you and your group members are required to show their receipts to the airport authorities.

How does Bonaire tax work?

Bonaire is an island located in the southern Caribbean, north of Venezuela. It is part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and CuraƧao) and is a special municipality of the Netherlands. Each visitor must pay an entry tourist tax when arriving in Bonaire. Visitors can pay the visitor fee upon arrival, but it is recommended to pay it earlier and to avoid the queue at the kiosk desks.

Visitors can stay as long as they want up to 90 days, within a 180-day period, but they need to pay a one-time tourist fee of USD 98.00 (including a government fee of USD 75 per person and service fee) for the duration of their visit.

Yes, all visitors, regarding their age should pay the entry visitor tax. However, children aged of 12 and below, are paying only 10$ USD government tax instead of 75$ USD.
